I am FINALLY getting around to listing a pretty large group of older Capital holders that I bought from a retiring dealer about 10-12 years back. They sat in several boxes in the office basement while I was always looking to find time to research and list them but never was able to get around to it....until now.....some of them are custom, 1 of a kind/special order, while others are just scarce/discontinued but ALL are in nice shape &
quite a few actually have the original outer box and tissue paper which they stopped using when the company changed hands in 2005!

I know this particular # (460) was retired from the line at the very latest in 2010 as it does not appear in a copy of their pricelist from that year (The last published Capital Plastics pricelist) while the 460A, 460 B & 460G are still being made. I also checked the last published Capital Holder catalog which is from 2007 and the 460 does not appear there either.
This is an odd one for a couple of reasons...I have another 8 x 10 holder that also is marked as a Capital holder #460 but it holds 30 coins including an Ike dollar so I'm thinking this is an earlier version of the same holder. This one seems to be from the mid-late1960's as it has opening for Kennedy Halves in both 90% silver & 40% silver but doesn't cover the Cupro-nickel type so it HAS to be pre-1971.
The OTHER odd thing is there are the names of what I assume was a married couple and somehow this set was marking their Anniversary as it has this inscription:
"Tom & Jo Render
Denver, Colorado
March 31,1943"
I did several searches of the Internet 2 or 3 different times over the past 4 or 5 years while it was sitting around here in a box but was unable to find any info on either name. Anyway, it could easily be covered up with a white sticker if one were so inclined.
