Rare VTG~The Cracker Box~GRAND DUCHESS~Christmas Ornament Kit~Open But Complete W/ Instructions.
Up for sale is a vintage Cracker Box ornament kit. This kit is named “Grand Duchess.” This kit contains a deep gold satin ball, beads, pins, rick rack, and a boatload of rhinestones ( over 4 feet!) for the ornament. This is a vintage kit with the old findings (including the rhinestones). This kit will be incredibly sparkly! It features 68 flat back rhinestones, but the real thing that makes is sparkle, is the over FOUR FEET OF AUSTRIAN CRYSTALS! The baggies for the strings of.rhinestones were originally stapled shut but I opened both to measure how many feet of rhinestones there are. One strand measured 54” and the other strand is 24”! That’s a lot of sparkle! The findings bag with the sequins, rocailles, and faceted beads was split open when I acquired it- so I can’t be 100% sure all those pieces are there. I separated all the flat back rhinestones and faceted beads and it appears to me that the all the blingy components are there.
Here is the inventory of the main components.
92 clear faceted beads, I believe these are also called rondells.
57 small green flat back rhinestones (I think you’re actually getting a spare crystal since the kit only calls for 56).
13 clear flat back rhinestones. There is also a spare clear rhinestones as the kit only calls for 12.
12 large green flat back rhinestones.
54” of Austrian crystal in one long piece.
24” of Austrian crystals in one long piece.
4 large size sequins.( spangles), we These aren’t your ordinary sequins. They are BIG.
2 clear drops .
1 filigree metal end piece.
Velvet ribbon.
One string of gold braid.
One string of forest green braid.
Instructions.
There are gold oat shaped beads, small iridescent beads,, gold glass beads, gold sequins, and pins.
All the major components appear complete. I DO NOT KNOW if there is a missing sequin, rocaille, or pin, but I don’t think it would be to hard to replace them.
The kit doesn’t look that impressive in the baggies, but this kit will be stunning when it’s finished and it will be absolutely sparkling!! The older lady I bought these from collected the ornaments but never put them together. She just put the components into ziplock baggies and had them tucked away.
